The SLIM RIGHT philosophy questions
traditional diet strategies on weight loss, and sees carbohydrates as the barrier which stops you losing weight.
Why are Carbohydrates Bad?
Human has developed through the centuries as carnivores
(meat eaters) and omnivores (fruit and vegetables eaters), and as
such our bodies have developed to process this type of diet.
Prehistoric human did not have access to grains, bread, pastas etc,
which are the refined and highly processed carbohydrates of today.
Today we are still inefficient at processing carbohydrates.
If we
are to consume too many carbohydrates for the body's energy use,
the body will store the excess as Body Fat.
However, for many years the "traditional" diet philosophy
was to reduce Fats at all costs. It was recommended we eat in proportion
to the Food Pyramid developed by the United States Department of
Agriculture in the early sixties.
The Traditional Food Pyramid Source: United States Department of Agriculture, developed in the 1960's.

broken down to the following: |

Because the philosophy of the "Traditional" Diet is low in fat; they are also high in carbohydrates. But
our body is not set up for this amount of carbohydrates.
Excess
carbohydrates not used for your daily energy, are stored as
body fat - making weight loss slow and difficult - If not impossible. |
